Forgiving Anger

by Brenda
(Hansen, ID)

I am awed (after reading and applying your forgiveness book to the issue of anger).

Family of origin never let us express anger. I felt terrified to say it is okay to feel anger. After all these years God never zapped me for my anger. I can feel something happening as I allow myself and others to feel anger. It's weird but anger doesn't hold such a stronghold on me right now.
I love the prayers & poems! They truly help. Thank you!
I truly believe God brought me to your website because this is exactly what I needed. Wow

Note from Katherine T Owen
Dear Brenda,
You have truly blessed me in your turn. Thank you.
Yes! We often make something so much bigger by making it wrong.
We tense up when we could relax.
We add self condemnation when we could add sympathy.
Then we wonder why we don’t feel safe enough and encouraged enough for growth to occur naturally!

I work to soften and relax each day– the habit of self blame is a tenacious one.

Slowly, slowly we can unwind, let go and create a space in which we open to new ways of being.

And yes, amazingly, God’s love has been waiting behind our own self judgment all along :-)

I am so so glad that the free book Releasing Judgment was helpful to you in self forgiveness and forgiveness of others.

Anyone reading this can collect their own free copy of the forgiveness book here.

Brenda, please find below a further release for you in the form of loving self talk. It is from a book I am working on. As you read it, imagine yourself talking to a wiser self.

My love to you on your spiritual journey to the place of Love we have never left :-)
Katherine

Being holy doesn’t mean seeing every behaviour as right.

I am here with you. Do you allow me to be here with you?

If you are here with me, you might want me to be holy and see her behaviour as okay. But I don’t see her behaviour as okay. I think she is doing something wrong by not being here with me.

You are holy. Being holy isn’t about seeing every behaviour as okay. It is about believing that someone is a child of God, whatever they do. Do you believe she is a child of God?

Yes, I believe she is a child of God.

Do you believe you are a child of God?

Yes, I believe I am a child of God.

Wonderful.

So how about it? Do you allow yourself to see her behaviour as wrong and know your holiness?

Yes, I allow myself to see her behaviour as wrong and know my holiness.

And do you allow me to be here with you when you know your holiness?

Yes, I allow you to be here with me when I know my holiness.

Thank you.

You’re welcome.

"One thing that struck me was the stripping of ego in the work. Most of us have a comfy ego façade, but weakness and disease tore Katherine’s away. The poems in Be Loved Beloved come from the heart."
