Motivational Poems – 3. I Allow Myself To Change
...Previous Page: Motivational Poems: Why Do I Want To Change?
It's OK to stagnate and call it self-acceptanceWhen the pain of staying the way we are is high, we can commit to change. When the pain is lower, or perhaps when it is someone outside ourselves who is suggesting the change, we can suddenly dig in our heels and claim that this is JUST THE WAY I AM.
Make a decision. Sure it is the way you are. But... Do you believe you can change in the way you desire? Yes/No Do you really want to learn this new skill? Yes/No
Sometimes we can set out half-heartedly to change without really answering these questions. Then, when our pain-levels are low, we stop practising our new skill.
Stop and answer those questions now. If you answered Yes... ...What are you committing to learn? ...Look around you now. This is where you were when you made a commitment. ...Make a mental or written note of your belief in your ability to change and your commitment to change.
You Are Much BiggerDon’t push me. You should allow me to be who I am. I know it. And you are much bigger than this.
It’s OK to know someone is not being all she can be.
“But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.” (Job 32:8, KJV esword)
