Thank you to my ex-typist
by: Katherine T Owen

Thank you so much Rachel.

When I was ill, it was not easy to find people to adapt to my communication difficulties and chemical sensitivities in order to work for me or visit me.

It meant so much to express myself through my writing. Thank you so much for having persevered and made a difference.

My love to you and yours,

Katherine x

(Rachel was my typist for a number of the years when I did not have much use of my arms due to having ME/CFS.

She would have been the first to type up some of the inspirations that are on this site. I used a dictaphone as I could physically write very little.)

Onwards and upwards

by Jill
(Swindon, Wiltshire, UK)

Have just watched you walking up those stairs in the youtube video, Katherine. I remember hearing you talk about it, but hadn't seen it before.
Lovely - you look so bonny and happy!

Note from Katherine T Owen:

It was such a wonderful day, Jill! The best bit was and is seeing the faces of those who had known me for years and never seen me walk before. And having conversations with people with whom I had never been able to talk properly before.

One of the many hard things about living with chronic illness is that people are unhappy to see you so ill. It is lovely that it is now the opposite.

And I just love busting people's ideas of what is possible merely by being able to stand up. People looked so happy.

With Love to you,
Katherine

Your Easter Message - Jesus did not give into the ego

by Chris Bond

Your Easter message touched my heart, Katherine.

Like you (and everyone else), I need to try harder not to give in to the ego. It's not easy: my ego is attractive and devious!

You and your story of triumph over illness and depression are a true inspiration, Katherine.
I thank you, and bless you.
Love, Chris.

"One thing that struck me was the stripping of ego in the work. Most of us have a comfy ego façade, but weakness and disease tore Katherine’s away. The poems in Be Loved Beloved come from the heart."
