THE GARDEN - A Christian Poem
by MaryAnn Fear
(Akron, Ohio)
I was but dirt. He made me whole
He gave me breath, life, and soul
I repaid him by eating the fruit of the tree
That was, I knew, forbidden to me.
I stole, wasted, cheated, and lied;
Yet on the cross for me He died.
He gave the wonders of the world to me.
I was blind, I would not see.
Still He waited patiently
And I now finally realize
Life without Him would be my demise.
I know one day I will drink the sweet wine.
The fruit of heaven's gardens all be mine.
