Katherine T Owen's Talk at UKCPD

by Alison Lyons
(Swindon, UK via UKCPD)

Katherine, I had looked at your site and watched you on YouTube before attending the event (A Talk at the UK Centre of Personal Development on "How Can We Understand The Faith Perspective").

I found you entirely congruent.

I enjoyed your poetry readings, hence I bought your book It's OK to Believe.

I will come back to a-spiritual-journey-of-healing and share titles of favourite books etc.

Go, girl, go!

I had the pleasure of meeting Katherine

by Shaun Butler
(Swindon, Wiltshire, UK)

I had the pleasure of meeting Katherine at a poetry event in Swindon last year. Her amiable nature, humble intelligence and sharp wit struck me as special and unique.

I was shocked and upset when i discovered her years of illness and just survival really and i could not believe such a beautiful person had been left isolated and dependent on public carers to just maintain basic human needs.

Since my introduction to her, i am proud and honoured to call Katherine my friend. I am crying now as i am so grateful for the inspiration, the hope, the joy of trust in God which these extreme circumstances have brought to her.

Katherine T Owen - your life is a blessing and a shining example to others!

God will not forget good people. Accept his blessings and he will work miracles and do good works in your life and provide hope and happiness to our difficult human circumstances.

Thank you.

Love and wishes, Shaun Butler

friendship and more...

by Jennifer Button
(Kent)

I met Katherine at a conference and was immediately drawn to her honesty and humility. Now having read her poetry I am so impressed, not only by the content but also by the beautiful way they flow when one reads them out loud.

Katherine you are a brave, special person. Keep reaching out and you will touch so many of us who like me find life a very confusing condition.

Love Jennifer x

Dear Jennifer,
It has been one of the joys of my year to get to know you.

How lovely that you noticed "honesty and humility". I would have said that we were united in our friendliness and ability to ask abundant questions – not necessarily humble of us, but very enthusiastic. :-)

I read few novels so I was delighted to so enjoy your novel The Haunting of Harriet. Haunting with depth, friendship, intrigue and questions. I wish you every success with that.

Thank you for your kind words about It's OK to Believe. Most of the poems were dictated, and I read them out loud to edit them. It is lovely that you receive the rhythm of the piece.

Delightful too that these poems exploring faith serve to make life feel a little less confusing. They did and still do that for me too!

With Love to a fellow spiritual explorer,

Katherine

"One thing that struck me was the stripping of ego in the work. Most of us have a comfy ego façade, but weakness and disease tore Katherine’s away. The poems in Be Loved Beloved come from the heart."
