Encouragement/ Motivational Poems – How To Learn To Learn

learning

I wrote many motivational poems for myself whilst I was living with very severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.

I set out to learn many things in order to survive and keep my sanity!

How to learn ANYTHING!

Over the years, I realised that there are various qualities that are needed WHATEVER we are learning which make the process of learning ANYTHING much easier.

I dictated various poems and divided them up to identify the different stages and attitudes necessary for learning. On the following pages, I share a few of these motivational poems and some thoughts to accompany them.

My poems are often accompanied by spiritual quotes from A Course in Miracles or The Bible. Use these if you find them helpful.

Apart from the list above, there are many other attitudes I identified that help us learn to learn.

Learning when living with chronic illness

One of the challenges for emotional health when living with chronic illness is the lack of affirmation from the world that we are learning something of value.
Perhaps if someone asks "What do you do?" and you are no longer well enough to have a job, you struggle to answer.

You may even answer "I don't do anything really".

However, if you are living with illness, or exploring the spiritual journey you are probably learning many things. Here are some examples you might relate to.

You may also be making a commitment to the application of self help techniques or spiritual practices.

You may be learning how to do EFT or qigong

You may be learning how to meditate.

Goal setting

So, think of your current goal:

What do you want to learn right now?

Or...

What are you already setting out to learn right now?

Have your goal in mind as you read through the next pages.

Where appropriate, substitute your goal for the example I have given.

I have felt very encouraged and motivated while writing these pages. I hope some of this motivation transfers itself to you through my words!

Be encouraged.
Happy learning.
