No beliefs are required to practise Qigong self healing. But for me it is very much a spiritual practice.
Qigong recognises that the same energy flows through us all. It calls this energy Qi.
It teaches that it is natural that this energy flows easily. When qi doesn’t flow it means that the energy has become blocked in some way. Qigong energy healing serves to remove these blocks.
Compare the approach of unblocking qi with the approach of A Course In Miracles, conveyed in the following quote:
Qigong self healing and spirituality share the same qualities as follows:
There are Christians who are a little wary of Eastern philosophies and practices.
I join with Jesus in the Bible in saying that if a practice results in healing, then it is clearly from God, since God would have us healed.
I experienced enormous healing from Qigong energy healing.
For me, the Qigong CD did not heal Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. But I know that Qigong (or Hua Gong - the healing component) has worked to heal Myalgic Encephalomyelitis for some people. The lady who runs Chinese Heritage used to live with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and I know of another lady who credits her recovery to attending Qigong classes. Qigong is certainly part of my healing journey whilst living with this chronic illness.
How often did I listen to the Qigong CD?
I listened to this Qigong energy healing CD 3 times a day for many years.
Did I do it properly each time? Definitely not, but I know I received a transmission of healing energy on each occasion.
I thought I would share the following, as I found it rather beautiful. I can feel God's breath in these words:
I first heard about Qigong energy healing when my aunt sent me a newspaper cutting about how it had helped many people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (the illnesss I had and have). She rarely sent me such cuttings.
I had only one friend who visited regularly – every 3 weeks or so. I mentioned it.
“Oh, he (Zhixing Wang) is great. I have his Qigong video and Qigong tape.”
In the next few weeks, my physiotherapist visited. I probably saw her once a year, if that. (No physiotherapy could be done with the CFS/ Myalgic
Encephalomyelitis as the muscle fatigue and pain was exacerbated by even passive movements, but she would visit anyway.)
“Oh, I go to his Qigong class every month,” she said.
She bent her knees and I heard a gruesome sound. “The sound of the arthritis is still there, she said, but I now have no pain whatsoever.”
How strange that in my world in a room, where I met mainly only carers, two of the people I knew knew about this Qigong video and tape.
I thought perhaps Zhixing Wang and his Qigong classes and tapes were very famous. But in all the years I remained bedbound, I never met another person who had heard of him. And, at the time of writing, I have been back out in the world for two years, and have only met another two people who have studied Qigong with Zhixing Wang.
The Qigong CD really changed my life, and I feel God’s guidance was at work.

(APOLOGIES THE CD no longer seems to be on sale. I will be back to recommend a Qigong DVD which I have been using and loving for a while now. Or feel free to contact me to ask for my qigong recommendation.)
