A Little about spiritual poet, Katherine T Owen

In 1995 I was living with the illness Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). I was also pursuing the spiritual journey. I suddenly moved into a very severe level of the illness. At this time I started to receive guidance in the form of poems in my head. Some I scrawled down through the pain in my arms. Some were lost. A few years later, a carer gave me a notetaker. My life changed. From then on, I dictated the poems (and other writing) and sent them off to a typist.

Over the 14 years I spent bedbound, I ended up receiving over 6000 poems, most of them in the last two years before a dramatic improvement in health.

Often these are very short poems. I am happy for them to be called thought-bites, and often call them ‘inspirations’.

My poems can be on many subjects, for example on living with illness, on exploring the patterns of the mind, or navigating the challenges of relationships.

The poems listed on this page are spiritual poems. I experience them as accessing a wisdom that is beyond my current level, allowing me with each re-reading to allow a spiritual truth to move from a concept towards being a lived reality in my life, providing me with a travel guide with which to walk the spiritual path.

I hope you will find amongst these spiritual poems one or more that bless you.

Poems about prayer by Katherine Owen

From a page on Prayers To Ask God To Provide.

The poem speaks to 'walking by faith not sight' also known as the Law of Attraction.

On Its Way

If you have a sense of an
all-loving
all-powerful
omnipresent God,
then pray.

Say clearly what you want,
then rest in confidence.

This or something better
is on its way.

It's OK to have a parent who has the resources and the love to give you everything you ask for.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
(Hebrews 4:16, KJV esword Bible quote)

"One thing that struck me was the stripping of ego in the work. Most of us have a comfy ego façade, but weakness and disease tore Katherine’s away. The poems in Be Loved Beloved come from the heart."

Spiritual poems on Christian or Bible themes

These poems reference the guidance received on my journey from both the Bible and the book A Course In Miracles.
Please note however that my writing primarily comes as a by-product of forgiving the next thing that arrives, using my practice of releasing judgment. The language is the language of our everyday lives.

Who I Am
A powerful Christ Consciousness poem, comprised of bible verses yet conveying Christian mysticism and Christian non duality.

The Spiritual Journey - a prose poem which finds our universal journey in the Bible story of the Navitivity
