Death where is your sting
by: Robert Gresak

He stood by the dying old man
grimly waiting – dolefully contemplating,
Spectre of fear.
Does he appear
to unawakened man at 'death',
reaper of life.

Through his pain the old man smiled
the joy of a child.
No fear clouded now his radiant face,
a great happiness filled the place,
for he saw the reaper’s relentless motion
and knew him to be the great illusion.

The old man’s life had been of high spirituality,
he knew of the soul’s immortality,
that 'tis only fear and ignorance
gives the reaper his power.
The old man’s voice rang out loud and strong,
my soul to light is about to take wing,
death, where is your sting?
