Self Belief Poem

by Julie Stell Croxton
(N Little Rock, AR USA)

Believe in Yourself

Don't ever run from the truth
Because you can't get away
Just face it with courage
And you'll be ok
It's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's the person you are now
It's how you choose to live
Have what you want
But want what you have
Don't spend your life looking behind you
Don't spend it looking back
Don't dwell on what's happened
Don't live in the past
Look down inside you
Deep down in your heart
Don't you ever have questions
Don't you ever have doubt
Both God and I know your heart
And we will always have your back
There is nothing you need but faith
There is nothing you lack.

The Truth Shall Set You Free Poem

by Maxine Whitfield
(San Diego, Ca)

The Truth Shall Set You Free

The truth shall set you free

Free to be

Free to see

Free to hear

Free to love

Free to open up and fly with the doves

The truth shall set you free

Free from fear

Lies and deceit

Which have been on constant repeat

To bring you home

To family and friends

To love your enemies and neighbors too

They also are your family…they are you

We are all connected to each other

We will stand tall with our sisters and brothers

It’s happening faster than you think

Wake up, wake up

To be free

Free of torment, pain and sorrow

Free to love every day and tomorrow

Dry your tears, stand erect

Be ready for the ride you will never forget

When all is said and done

The dust will clear

Everything will be removed and known

So don’t fear

Trust yourself NOW

Practice daily

To ride the storms

To be aware

It will clear out

Don’t ever be scared

‘Cause true unconditional love is soon to arrive

We all will feel this deep down inside!

God Gives Me Freedom To Be Me Poem

by Patrice Dianne Wilkerson
(Nelson, Virginia, USA)

Whom Shall I Fear?

I have never been a scary person, my family can agree
I enjoy taking risks because I only want the best for me
I am not afraid of being myself which is weird and goofy
I am not afraid to push the limits to be all that I can be
I am not afraid to take a stand and go against the ‘it’ crowd
I am not afraid to see the bright side of things even when they’re dark clouds
I am not afraid to speak my mind and get my point across
I am not afraid of one day being a successful boss
I am not afraid to break down and shed a tear
I am not afraid because with God on my side, whom shall I fear?

"One thing that struck me was the stripping of ego in the work. Most of us have a comfy ego façade, but weakness and disease tore Katherine’s away. The poems in Be Loved Beloved come from the heart."
