Does God need me poem

by Lewis
(United Kingdom )

You know the season that I am in

Lord
You know the season that i am in, but can i glorify you anyway?
Lord
You know the season that i am in, but can i lift up the hearts of those struggling?
Lord
You know the season that i am in, but can i touch the life of that one person that needs you?
Lord
You know the season that i am in, but can i still praise your Holy name?
Lord
You know the season that i am in, but can you take me down to my knees every single day?
Lord
You know the season that i am in, help me to stay strong and not lose my song.
Lord
You know the season that i am in, but can i be of any service to you anyway?

*Inspired by William Carrol's sermon.

Lewis, this is so beautiful and very timely to me. I am feeling a little sorry for myself in this moment. Your words help me to face outwards– a shift from ‘what have I lost?’ to ‘what can I give?’. A shift to the inquiry of God that allows Her/Him the space to enter and remind me of the Love which IS the answer.

Thank you.

God needs me poem

Horizons Alone

I have never loved so easy as when
I was truly within my peace of mind...

As a sweet breeze gently touching
with many horizons alone but free to find...

Wandering aimless through life's duration & accord
One can afford to delve in their past
To get a humble glimpse of their future

I pray that God will make me a fountain pure and sweet
once this life is finished no chance to repeat

So daily I cool your brow & wash your dusty feet
Then when you take a drink of the waters flowing free,
you'll know the Holy Spirit is flowing out of me

For I have seen what this old world has to offer me
It can't hold a wing nor a prayer to what my savior Jesus did
holding his arms in the air

With my hair I'll dry your feet,
Then rub them with sweet oils,
soon you'll be refreshed from life's daily toils.

"One thing that struck me was the stripping of ego in the work. Most of us have a comfy ego façade, but weakness and disease tore Katherine’s away. The poems in Be Loved Beloved come from the heart."
