A Course In Miracles workbook lesson 49:
Gods Voice speaks to me all through the day.

A Course In Miracles includes a workbook with 365 lessons - one for each day of the year.

In the following lesson, you are invited to repeat the first line every hour throughout the day.

This opens your mind to the possibility that you can hear Gods voice.

"God's Voice speaks to me all through the day.

It is quite possible to listen to God's Voice all through the day without interrupting your regular activities in any way.

The part of your mind in which truth abides is in constant communication with God, whether you are aware of it or not.

It is the other part of your mind that functions in the world and obeys the world's laws. It is this part that is constantly distracted, disorganized and highly uncertain.

The part that is listening to the Voice for God is calm, always at rest and wholly certain. It is really the only part there is.

The other part is a wild illusion, frantic and distraught, but without reality of any kind. Try today not to listen to it.

Try to identify with the part of your mind where stillness and peace reign forever.
Try to hear God's Voice call to you lovingly, reminding you that your Creator has not forgotten His Son.

...Listen in deep silence. Be very still and open your mind"

His Voice awaits your silence

"He has not waited until you return your mind to Him to give His Word to you.  
He has not hid Himself from you, while you have wandered off a little while from Him.

He does not cherish the illusions which you hold about yourself.  
He knows His Son, and wills that he remain as part of Him regardless of his dreams; regardless of his madness that his will is not his own.

Today He speaks to you.  

His Voice awaits your silence, for His Word can not be heard until your mind is quiet for a while, and meaningless desires have been stilled.  

Await His Word in quiet.  

There is peace within you to be called upon today, to help make ready your most holy mind to hear the Voice for its Creator speak."

A Bible quote on Hearing God’s Voice

Here is a Bible quote on hearing God’s voice:

“But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel;
After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts,
and write it in their hearts;
and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD:
for they shall all know me,
from the least of them unto the greatest of them,
saith the LORD...”

Releasing Judgment to hear God's voice

The release is a simple, powerful forgiveness exercise. It helped me keep my sanity, and to open to hear God's promptings during the many years when I experienced a life as so hard.

The release continues to be essential to me as a means to clear my mind to hear God's voice through the everyday circumstances of my life.

No spiritual belief is necessary to apply the exercise.

Positive self talk helps us to hear God's voice

Click through for an article on this spiritual website on how to develop positive self talk. By 'positive' I mean self talk that leaves you feeling encouraged.

The more our self talk is loving, the more it is aligned with God's words, the more we become able to hear God's words.

Our kindness to ourselves creates a space of peace,
Our kindness to ourselves slows down our racing thoughts
Our kindness to ourselves leaves space for us to hear God talk to us.

Other suggestions to open to hear God's voice

• Be willing.
• Be still.
• Meditate on a relevant quote. See above for suggestions.
• Pray. See above for a short prayer.
• Let go of attachment to results.
• Look out for synchronicities.
• Practice.
