Mother Mary Experience

Mother Mary and Jesus

Mother Mary and Jesus

Dear Katherine,

I want to share two experiences about Mother Mary with you, seeing from your site that you have a place for her.

1. Sometime in 1995, i was lying on my bed and absent mindedly fiddling with my rosary beads trying to loosen them up. Now these were the chain type which are quite susceptible to getting knotted up. As i fiddled with it and tried to loosen the knots i realized i could ruin it that way. Then i heard that still small voice say- why not say the Hail Mary. So i held up the rosary at the crucifix end with the remainder hanging down knotted up like a ball, and started the Hail Mary. When i got to the middle, the knotted portion just loosened. I shared this that evening with a Rev. Fr. friend and some Rev. Sr.s and they were quite amazed.

2. I have this pentecostal friend who would not hear about the intercessory role of Mary as taught by the Catholic Church, i tried to explain but he would not listen. This was in 2009. He was someone i respected so much for his spiritual zeal which had benefited me immensely, so i did not want to get into an argument with him. So one afternoon after mass i went to the blessed sacrament where there was a portrait of our lady of perpetual help. I knelt and asked her- what do you want me to tell my friend to convince him? I heard that still small voice say- just tell him that i am like the hem of Jesus garment that the woman with the issue of blood touched and got healed. Well, i told my friend so and explained a little more and he seemed to understand with me.

My personal take on these is- She is real and available to all who believe, as an intercessor, and a most worthy and powerful one at that.

Thank you for your time,

Godwin

Note from a-spiritual-journey-of-healing.com

Dear Godwin,
Thank you for sharing such beautiful experiences of Mother Mary. I think of her as Mary but when referring to others, might say Our Lady. Your term is so much more friendly and speaks more of the mother energy experience I have of her.
“i am like the hem of Jesus garment that the woman with the issue of blood touched and got healed” – this is so beautiful. A wonderful combination of humility and power combined. Something we can all aspire to.

Move to an article on the Hail Mary Prayer which speaks of my own Mother Mary experience.

"One thing that struck me was the stripping of ego in the work. Most of us have a comfy ego façade, but weakness and disease tore Katherine’s away. The poems in Be Loved Beloved come from the heart."
