Poem about Buddhist meditation

by Gerard Sarnat MD

Sunday Sangha Sitting

No
Longer
Quarter lotus
Floor material

I
Sit,
King
In castle

Chair,
Feet on
Ground,
Eyes closed.

Gazing
Up, I’m
Flooded with
Some vague hope

Emanating
From skylights
Of this old church
We have converted.

Head
On core’s
Tentpole turned
Down and inward

Thoughts
Become dark
Til brought back to
Cleansing in-and-out breaths

Severing
Paranoia my broken
Butt bones are wired to
WikiLeaks…Peace returns.

Meditation
Ended by sweetest
Softest, slowest 3 gongs ever,
H. Sapien rejoins monkey chatter.

Poem about Silence and God

by Chris Roe
(UK)

Sentinel of Conscience

From the first prayers,
And dreams of my journey,
A silent voice
Has stood sentinel
Within my soul.

No answers given,
No miracles offered.
No blinding light
To penetrate the darkness.
No dogma or creed,
No sectarian vision,
Only silent prayer,
Through times of joy and pain.

This silent voice,
This sentinel of conscience,
Has been my shadow,
Has shared my life,
Has given reason enough
To continue my journey
Through the darkness,
And on, into the light.

Dear Chris,
Thank you so much for this beautiful poem about the silent voice of God.
I relate to your words and the love of God they express.
The silent voice does give reason enough, doesn't it? We are blessed to know this. Thank you for the reminder.

With the Love we are,
Katherine

Spiritual Poem About Silence

by Robert Gresak
(South Africa)

SILENCE

O beautiful silence you are the queen
of all the unseen,
in your depths is known the true peace
without cease.

In the depths of your blessed heart
germinates the start
of all that is, from a seed to a star
and the power of cosmic energy
from galaxies afar.

"One thing that struck me was the stripping of ego in the work. Most of us have a comfy ego façade, but weakness and disease tore Katherine’s away. The poems in Be Loved Beloved come from the heart."
