Easter's Umbrella

The journey to Easter Sunday is like an umbrella
Carried over the Blessed Sacrament
Protection while choices are made,
Forgiveness, second chances, long suffering.

Climbing the mountain, praying in a quiet place
Is spending time with Jesus
Feeling His presence and closeness,
A time for search and repentance.

The path to Easter is like a fig tree
Fruit of the vine, God's bounty
His investment in us to bear good fruit,
A time for shaping morals and character.

Easter Sunday is triumph over death
Celebration with warmth and joy
Finding Him and letting Him find us
Uncovering veils of hatred and indignation.

The beauty of Jesus' Resurrection
Rains down on us like a flame
A candle that leads us out of darkness
Into the light of renewed life.
