Fear, Illness, Spirituality
Hi Katherine, I live with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis /CFS. I was just wondering if there is anything you could direct me to on your blog about Fear related to being ill.
Fear has hit me really hard recently.

I know you are a regular visitor to the website. For another time, it is always worth putting the subject of interest in the search box on the home page. For example, put in 'fear' or 'frightened', and see what comes up.
The question about fear and illness is such an important one. I felt fear so often when I was living with very severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis /CFS. I continue to feel fear of symptoms at times. Sometimes I wonder if illness is 'fear manifested'.
These are the articles on a-spiritual-journey-of-healing.com relating to how to overcome fear:What is the difference between faith in God and faith for healing? Is it natural to feel both fear and faith on the spiritual journey?
If you have downloaded the Free forgiveness ebook: Releasing Judgment
, identify what you feel fear about and do the release on it. It's ok to feel frightened that...
I love myself when I feel fear that...
I love myself when I feel confident that...
I love myself when I have faith...
You could also look at Psalm 91
- a prayer for peace of mind, a prayer for strength and a prayer for protection. I learned this prayer by heart and said it every day. I still say it often.

Fear can seem so overwhelming. But we are one, Alice. As one who is not in fear right now, I hold you up in a place of FAITH. My faith is yours. The fear is leaving and the knowledge of God's love is taking its place. Amen.

I just read Psalm 91 out loud to myself. It's beautiful. I'm going to read it every day.
I LOVED your piece on fear and faith and being blessed.
Thank you so much Katherine. You are such an inspiration to me.
With love and gratitude,

It is some time later after the original post from Alice. I have just received the following request from Joanne. She included her email address. Rather than start a new page, I will update this article and write and send her a link with the hope that it will help to ease her fear. "I'm someone who is filled with so much fear, always worrying and stressed out. I have panic attacks and feel depressed. I also have negative thoughts and even hear voices.
What prayers can I say throughout the day for this end and to have peace? Are there any others things I can do?
Dear Joanne, Thank you so much for reaching out.
I am so sorry to hear of your distress.
I hope you will find the links above useful for overcoming fear.
You also say you have negative thoughts and hear voices.
I recommend this page: The first step in how to change thoughts you don’t like is to accept the thoughts
Please, if you are visiting say a prayer for Alice and Joanne and for anyone living with fear and illness who is pursuing their spirituality to find the peace that passes understanding.
We ask for perfect love to cast out our fear. Thank you God. Amen.
With my love, Katherine
